Happy New Year! I have to say that 2017 treated me pretty well, but I am definitely looking forward to see what is to come in 2018! With that being said, the ending of a year and the beginning of another often makes me think about what throughout the year had both positively and negatively affected me. I then make resolutions and/or goals, along with so many others that are looking to improve themselves. For the coming year, I have compiled a list of goals for the year for both myself and my blog!
In the new year, I definitely want to take up journaling. I got a journal style notebook from a family member and it got me thinking that I should give it a try. I defiantly think that it will not only help me through my emotions, but also give me something to look back upon some day.
Along with writing in a journal, I want to read more. I love to read but sometimes I get so distracted by modern technologies such as my phone and the television, that reading just goes by the wayside. I really want to make an effort to read more because I know that, typically, once I start, I will not want to put the book down. In a perfect world, I want to read a grand total of 50 books throughout the coming 12 months. Maybe it is time to start reading those Harry Potter books again. I have been saying I wanted to do this for years now.
I plan to get myself into the best shape yet this year. I want to feel truly happy with myself and I have decided that the time for this goal is now. This is not really a New Year goal or resolution, as I have begun working towards this a little while ago.
Going hand-in-hand with getting into great shape is wanting to quit eating so much sugar. I often give into my sweet tooth, which leads me to constantly eating an unhealthy snack. (Cookies are definitely my weakness!) I want to eat more fruits and naturally sweetened things that still satisfy my sweet tooth without harming the rest of my body. Unlike working out, this is something I am waiting to incorporate in the New Year because I definitely do not want to miss out on some Homemade Ice Cream Cake! 😉
As far as my blog goes, I really want to reach 2,000 followers on both my Instagram and my Pinterest. If you don’t already follow, go give it a follow now. 😉 I want to begin to reach and connect with more people in the blogging world. I want the opportunity to both inspire and be inspired.
I also want to create a more consistent blog post schedule. With new posts coming out two or three times per week to further increase communication with my readers. With school winding down for me, I will have a lot more free time this coming semester and plan to use it to enhance the blog. How would you guys feel about more consistent posts on here? Plus, if there is anything you specifically want to see on Simply Kaylee Ann, let me know in the comments!
All in all, 2017 was a pretty good year, filled with new adventures, happy memories, and a whole lotta love. I truly cannot complain, too much. 😉 But, as we all know, with all good comes some not so great things that I am glad to be leaving in 2017. I am looking forward to what 2018 has in store for me, as I have a feeling this may be the best year yet! I wish you all the happiest and healthiest new year yet.
