Hello all! Welcome back to Simply Kaylee Ann. Can you believe it is already the first official day of summer?! Before we all know it, school bells are going to be ringing again and we will be back to hectic school schedules. For now, I am happy to sit back and enjoy the sunshine and warm weather hat comes along with this season!
I know I have spoken about how much I love Mexican food in some prior posts but today might be my favorite Mexican recipe to share yet!! It is my Dad’s Homemade Salsa. He has been making this for as long as I can remember. He had tweaked and changed some things along the way, but nevertheless it is always SO tasty! Everyone in our family just goes crazy for it!
Dad’s Homemade Salsa
- 2 28 oz. cans of whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 medium sized white onion
- 1 large green pepper
- 3-4 cloves of fresh garlic
- 1 jalepiño to taste
- Cilantro to taste (My family likes a lot of cilantro so we load up on this!)
- Garlic salt to taste
- Optional splash of red wine vinegar
Put all ingrieditns in a food processor on high and process to your desired consitensy. Pour into a bowl, let sit for about an hour, and then mix. Serve with tortilla chips (I prefer Garden of Eatin’ Blue Corn Chips). Refrigerate the leftovers. Enjoy!!
This salsa recipe is not too hard to make, nor very time-consuming. I truly believe that this will be a hit among your friends and family, as it is among mine!! Be sure to leave a comment below if you do intact try it out!
